Summary: California's Roving Politicians: John Garamendi's Role America's Home Foreclosure and Homeless Crisis

What happened to John Garamendi's promise to homeowners that he'd enforce insurance laws and investigate complaints of homeowners association insurance fraud?
Other Information: John Garamendi called AHRC News Services before he won election to a second term as the California Insurance Commissioner. He was running for elections and needed all the media coverage and homeowners votes he could get. In the middle of a conversation he said Bill Clinton was on the phone and be would call back after speaking to Mr. Clinton. (Clinton helped him with his reelection campaign.)

He called back and gave the AHRC staff a private email address and Fax number to send the many reports of insurance fraud by homeowner association lawyers and manager, and, insurance companies and his "friend" California Senate Insurance Chair Jackie Speier (D) had failed to investigate. He promised to investigate them if he was elected. Both he and his campaign staffer Christine Lally were sent information.

Garamendi was elected. When AHRC attempted to do a followup story on the investigation his secretary Vickie Ortiz Vales asked that the complaints to be again sent to their private Fax number and email address at the California Department of Insurance. His campaign staffer Christine Lally asked for the information to he sent to her private email as well so she could again get it to him.

John Garamendi, Christine Lally and Vickie Ortiz ignored all subsequent followup calls and emails.

John Garamendi, is one of many veteran California politicians who continue to go from one public office (California voters term limits initiative keep fortunately term them out of office) public office to another helping pass foreclosure enabling homeowner association laws or failing to enforce laws and protect homeowners from homeowner association fraud and foreclosure.

He is part of an entrenched political group living off America's taxpayers who created and keep the foreclosure and homeless crisis going and going in America.

In November 2006 he was elected Lt Governor of California.

To win this seat as California's Lt. Governor, Garamendi barraged the airwaves with attack ads accusing his political opponent Jackie Speier (D) of taking contributions from insurance companies and failing to enforce insurance laws as she was required to as chair of the California Senate Insurance Committee. (When running for elections he asked homeowners with homeowner association insurance complaints to call his "good friend Jackie Speier in the California Senate)

In 1995 - 1998 he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior by President Bill Clinton

In 1991 - 1995 as California's First Insurance Commissioner Garamedni failed to investigate from homeowners who were being defrauded and foreclosed on by insurance and homeowner association lawyers.

1976 - 1988 California State Senator and Senate Majority Leader and Chair of the Senate Revenue & Taxation Committee, Garamendi along with his fellow lawmakers Gray Davis, Larry Sterling, and House Speaker Willie Brown passed the unconstitutional, foreclosure enabling homeowner association laws.
