|
| A. |
There are two ways to include information about your homeowners association on AHRC::
1. List and publish information
You can list your homeowners association, it's vendors, government authorities, businesses e.g. media in the AHRC website directory and publish information about them at any time using the Comments link for them.
Directory listings are used to publish information about the entities and write them letters and complaints. These communications are stored in your private account and you can decide to submit them for publication on AHRC.
To list your homeowners association please select
• Submissions
• Submit Directory Listing
Choose category Homeowner Associations. on the form. Include the names of your directors, vendors and any information you wish to send about your association.
To add information about your association at any time use the Comments link under the directory listing.
Use separate Submission Forms to list your vendors and add details about them e.g. managers should listed under the category Service Managers etc.
2.Submit your URL - Reciprocal links
If you have a website and would like a link for your website on AHRC click the LINKS:
1. Add a link on your website to AHRC using the instructions under Add us to your site

AOL email problems
|
|
Q. I am not receiving any email responses to my questions. My email address is XXX@aol.com
|
| A. |
AOL blocks and filters mail that its users subscribe to.
Hundreds of AOL users have had problems receiving mail from various sources including Harvard University, Earthlink etc.
If you have an e-mail address other than from AOL, please use them.
Many users spent hours correcting their mail receipt only to have AOL change their programming and revert back to having their mail blocked under the guise of blocking "spam"

AOL user advice
|
|
Q. How to set your filters on AOL to receive your mail
|
| A. |
I know that many people with AOL have had problems getting mail from AHRC.
AOL members need to go to Mail Controls
Check the box that says Allow mail from all senders.
Additionally, they need to make sure the box that says Control what is IN the mail I get is NOT marked with an X.
It will also say Mail filtered by AOL advanced spam filter.
I believe this is how AHRC emails gets filtered out. I hope this helps.
I have spoken extensively with AOL and they say the AHRC site is not black listed. |
AOLUsers
|
|
Q. I have not received a verification email from AHRC, I use AOL.
|
| A. |
AOL uses blocks important mail its users subscribe by misclassifying it as "spam".
Following is a suggestion for AOL version 9.0. from Ask Eddie ,an AHRC user:
If you have AOL and did not receive the verification email, go into Read Mail, then click on Manage Mail and go to a folder called Spam.
You should see mail from AHRC. Then click a button that reads "This is Not Spam."
Click here for Instructions from AOL,
Click here for additional AOL information.
You are paying AOL to deliver your mail. If AOL blocks and censors your mail:
• switch to a company that provides the serive you paid for
• demand a refund from AOL
• report the theft of your time, service and money to your State Attorney General.. |

Forum - Post deleted
|
|
Q. Why was my post on the HOA Forum deleted?
|
| A. |
You posted an advertisment telling homeowners to support TUPCA merely because you had "read it" .
You are a stranger to the AHRC HOA Forum and you advertisment for a CAI initiative basically stated "Trust me ...I say TUPCA is good for homeowners. Therefore Support TUPCA"
The AHRC Forum is not a place for people with unknown affinities to campaign for CAI or other vendor initiatives and therefore your posting was deleted by the Forum Editor.
You now write: "I don't know whether or not CAI lawyers were involved or not....Trust your users/contributors to your forum."
TUPCA has been written about extensively by the experienced and trusted homeowner advocates in Texas. Unlike you, they are quite familiar with the origins and the players who wrote the bill. They gave their analysis, and took time to explain the origins, content of TUPCA and why it would hurt homeowners.
Discussion Forums are for people who have a genuine commitment to the rights of homeowners.
Your failure to analyse the considered opinions of true homeowner advocates on the ground in Texas, raises a serious question in our mind whether you really represent CAI and/or other trade groups. If you genuinely think and can demonstrate that their position is wrong, then we will be happy to consider posting it.
Homeowner advocates have selflessly given their time and knowledge to help protect our homes and families. You should at least articulate why you think they are wrong. They deserve no less.

|
| A. |
This error is puzzling. When you are logged in with your cookies turned on, your session id cookie should keep you logged in for up to10 hours.
Here's what you can do so you do not to lose your work:
1. Use the back button to go to the previous screen (do not hit refresh - the cache on your computer retains the work you did and you do not want to wipe it out)
2. Open a new window and log in
On a PC
• go to top left - toolbar
• Open File - New window
• log in on AHRC
3. Find the work you did
The work you did would still be in the cache locally on your computer. Find it in the old window you were on
On a PC
• Go to task bar
• select the name of the old window you were on
• You will see the work you did
• Continue with your posting and submit it.

Following is a case in which Microsoft filtered Blue Mountain Greeting Card company's electronic greeting cards.
Blue Mountain charged that Microsoft has a competing electronic greeting card Internet site and distributed a trial version of Internet Explorer 5.0 which included an e-mail filter that identifies Blue Mountain's cards as spam and sends them into a junk mail folder instead of sending them to the intended recipient.
In the case Hartford House, Ltd. dba Blue Mountain Arts v. Microsoft Corp., CV 778550, Sup. Ct. Cal. Santa Clara County, 1998.
Judge Robert James ruled "Pursuant to Business & Profession Code Section 17203 and California Code of Civil Procesure Section 526(a)1-5) Microsoft and its agents, officers, employees , servants, assigns, subsideries, affilliates and all persons shall be enjoined an restrained from distributing, licensing and/or selling, directly or indirectly, any product (including any and all types of software), including, without limitation, any commercialm public, trial or beta versions of software that include any electronic mail "filter" which impedes in any manner the delivery of Blue Mountain greeting cards or notification messages to the intended recipient's standard electronic mail-in-box."
Microsoft was also ordered to provide Blue Mountain information necessary so Blue Mountain could alter its e-mail messages and greeting cards to ensure they passed through Microsoft's anti-spam filtering tool |

Verifications are sent by the AHRC computer as soon as it receives your account submission. You should receive a verification within 5 minutes of your submission.
You can resend a verification emails from the Log In screen.
Spam filters you set on your computer and email settings by AOL may prevent verification email getting to you. Check both. Add the email address ahrc@ahrc.com to your address list. This is a send only - no-reply email address.
Receiving the AHRC Newsletters does not mean that you are set to receive verification emails .

Q. I am not receiving verification emails or newsletters from AHRC. I have an AOL account.
|
| A. |
AOL's Spam Filtering programs has been forwarding legitimate emails sent to their subscribers to it's "spam" folder. Several companies e.g. Earthlink sending mail to customers have reported that millions of emails they sent were undelivered as a result of the filtering,
AOL suggests the following fix:
Some of your e-mail may be forwarded to your Spam folder box because of the new AOL's Advanced Filtering feature.
AOL's Advanced Spam Filtering will automatically move junk mail and unwanted mail into your Spam folder.
This process is simple, automatic, and personalized to how you use mail. If filtering is on, Mail determined to be Spam by AOL's advanced technology will be automatically delivered to your Spam folder.
The Advanced Spam Filtering is on by default and unfortunately at this time, there is no way to turn off the feature on AOL for Mac OS X.
However, if you have friend who is using AOL 8.0 or AOL 9.0 on Windows, you can sign on as a Guest and disable the feature from there.
You can also visit Keyword: SPAM FOLDER to access your Spam folder box inside the AOL software and click on the THIS IS NOT SPAM button for every legitimate e-mail you have found on this area.
You should also add the addresses that you have found in your Spam folder to your Address Book .
Click here for America On Line - Email Delivery Issue Information
(Some users have said they have switched to other providers because their AOL spam filter constantly filters out mail they want.) |
