Summary: Introduced AB 2598 in 2004 - to stop non-judicial foreclosures by California Homeowner Associations. Lobbyists and lawmakers protecting the foreclosure industry bartered and modified the bill to prohibit the use of judicial or nonjudicial foreclosure to collect unpaid assessments under $2,500. The foreclosure lawyers and allied vendors lobbied Governor Swazznegger and he vetoed AB2598,

RE: My numerous attempts for clarification of your(and Assemblyman Longville) Bill# AB 1525
You and Assemblyman Longville have refused to reply to my many letters asking for "your interpretation" of "NON COMMERCIAL" as Bill# AB 1525 applies it to signs, banners and flags.
Assemblyman Cox's office told me that you pushed this Bill so politicians could have the freedom to advertise yourselves without restrictions, but his office had no idea either of your meaning of "NON COMMERCIAL".
This creates a huge problem for homeowners because it allows any property owner,in a common interest community, to display anything that is not "hate" related. You have taken away homeowners rights to protect property values and community integrity. Futhermore, your Bill AB 1525 saddles homeowners with the legal responsibility and burden of clarification by the courts. This is irresponsible in my view.
I'm asking you again to reply to my question and please be specific.

Sam Delson and Kathy Dresslor aides to Assembymember Darrel Steinberg said they had no comments about AB 2598 being vetoed by the Governor.
Delson said the Governor signed 16 of Steinberg's bills and vetoed 8 and "had no comments" regarding the vetoes.
