I also have issues wiht this firm. They encouraged my HOH to take our home from a mentally ill person for only $540 in past due fees. Sold it to another party for $50,000 less then market value and on top of it added $30,000 in "fees". They do not believe that the Stirling-Davis Act applies to them. Please feel free to contact me if you have any input.

THE BEST LIARS IN THE COLORADO COURTS WIN - Judges don't like pro se homeowners suing their homeowners association and will not enforce perjury in their courtrooms
I am suffering the same fate in the Santa Monica, California court where the HOA Board members and their attorney withheld evidence of true facts and denied existence of it at trial.
The result is $30,000 judgment obtained through deceit and $40,000 "judge-friendly" attorney fees. This is how HOA lawyers "earn" their living in our legal system.

Santa Monica, California
Profile: I am a former owner of a condominium unit and have recently been sued by the HOA for an alleged "ice maker and washing mashine leak." In reality the HOA Board members wanted to remodel their kitchens and replace 45 yr old building's galvanized piping with new copper piping, but... someone had to pay for it! So the Homeowner Association attorneys Swedelson and Gottlieb managed to obtain a judgment through deceipt against me in Santa Monica Court, Judge John Segal for $30,000 damages and $40,000 attorney fees

Changed CC&Rs to HOA responsible for the roof, however, HOA is NOT responsible for any damage to personal property or interior walls of the dwelling as a result of the roofs leaking.
Many roofs leaking yearly and too little is done too late causing thousands of dollars in damage for homeowners. Insurance companies won't pay on damage caused by poorly maintained roof. HOA has NO motivation to maintain roofs. What kind of CC&Rs are these??
Welcome any similar experiences to contact me.

Any information regarding the changing of CC&Rs, "plan of action", "what to do with" proxies that may not have information on outside of envelope (address), "public relations" with respect to the changing of CC&Rs, false accusations of non payment of HOA dues with associated foreclosure threats, etc. would be appreciated immediately.

AHRC Response
Attorney Ronald Norton Gottschalk - Gottschalk & Associates. informed AHRC that he is currently involved in a major lawsuit against Swedelson & Gottlieb. He is representing the homeowner who is the plaintiff in this case, and this is a Los Angeles Superior Court Case.
Mr. Gottschalk also said that his office will begin their investigations for a possible class action lawsuit against some CAI collection lawfirms homeowners have been reporting on , including Peters & Freedman.

Received the following complaint from a board member at an HOA that Sandra Gottlieb advises.
This last April, another lady and I decided to run for the Board and see if we could make some positive changes. We were elected. Immediately the next "plan of action" was put in place by the CACM ladies (managers), Gottlieb (the association attorney), and former BOD's.
Remarkably, an invoice of Gottlieb's, which fell into my hands, makes mention of a "plan of action" in the event someone is successful in obtaining a Board seat and ramifications of same. Mention is also made of "what to do with" proxies that may not have owner information on outside of envelope (address ?).
