Desert Crest had hired Margaret Wranger after Peters & Freedman had helped the board change HOA CCRs and then went to do foreclosures on homemowers and board members on behalf of the Desert Crest Country Club. Margaret Wrangler - Rimcrest HOA - Desert Crest - Fiore, Racobs, Powers     A homeowner reported that Margaret Wrangler filed suit against two board members at Rimcrest Homeowner Association. An attorney from this group has done everything possible to make a bad situation worse     An attorney from this group has done everything possible to make a bad situation worse, making sure it would wind up in court and they could make as much money as possible. Heavy-handed legal tactics     After sharpening the fine art of legal intimidation at the firm of Fiore, Racobs, & Powers, some attorneys have gone on to assemble their own firms. One such firm currently practicng their own heavy-handed legal tactics in more then a couple of HOAs is that of Cane, Walker, & Harkins. Fiore, Racobs & Powers     In 1993 the group was known as Fiore, Walker Woolf Willis. Richard Fiore founded CLAC - California Legislative Action Committee, the lobby arm of CAI and chaired it for many years. He has been active in helping write laws for homeowner associations.. It was illegal to use maintence dues for litigation and CI lawyers were illegally using the dues to fund construction defect lawsuits e.g. Loma Vista HOA in San Juan Capistrano. The homeowners reported that $500,000 was used to fund a construction defect suit to pay Fiore. CAI-CLAC lawyers including Fiore lobbied to change the law to legalize the use of maintenance dues for construction defect lawsuits and access homeowners without limits to replenish the reserves.. After activists exposed his lobbying role in many of the anti-homeowner bills in 1993, Fiore resigned as chair.
