I understand completely! We live in an HOA in California. The board of directors voted in a new parking rule and now we all are being cited with tickets every single night for parking in front of our own homes!
They threaten us with towing constantly. I received a large bright yellow sign that said "this vehicle now subject to tow". It's maddening and insanity on the part of our board to enact this rule.
We as the members of the HOA got a petition together with over 67% of signatures from homeowners letting the board know that we want it to be changed.
Our next step is to recall the entire board of directors! They have had too much power for too long. Good luck with your issue!

We had the same thing happen to us, and thanks to 1 decent sheriff deputy, they were not able to steal my car, yet...the only thing that saved me was:I kept it insured, it was part of my homeowners policy...The letters kept coming, and board members, have been trying to amend the rules ever since...Try the insurance for some protection on your part, it only cost me $30 a year for the parked car on my property... Good Luck...
