Visibility is all important in litigation.

If you are invisible, then you are easy prey to the lawyers.

This is why we are going this.

1. ....its not a slogan...its the foundation of America....
  Kathy,

I am the trouble maker of our community. I demand my Board of Directors honor the covenants at all times, not just when it suits them. I constantly remind them that their duty is to represent the interst of the homeowners and not the management company/lawyers. In fact, I write a monthly newsletter and distribute it to all 407 homes in my subdivision. Last year I went door to door with a petition calling for the immediate removal of our Board and an open record policy for all of our financials. Eventually, the community removed the board and elected a new one. I wish I could say things ended happily ever after. But along came a spider...well actually another management company with no verified references and a high price tag. Unfortunately, our new board is too busy planning social events to stand up to the MC and we are now looking at a budget that would leave us more than $30 k in debt.

Where does this leave me....still writing my newsletter. Last year I learned that I was not alone. Most people in this community felt the same ways as I did. They wanted to feel safe in their homes, they didnt want to keep footing the bill for the mistakes the developers, the management company and the Board make. Like your post said....its not a slogan...its the foundation of America.
