Homeowner Associations are based on the fundamentally flawed premise that your neighbor will take care of YOUR property.

It has hit critical mass. Remember, I told you it was just a metter of time before we would have CAI on the run.
I watched the show. It was great - this is national TV coverage for the homeowners. Congratulations! You've done a terrific job getting people going on this movement.
The AHRC representative did a great job explaining the probelms in homeowner association. The CAI - HOA representive looked ridiculous saying HOA fees should betreated like taxes. The government does not go around foreclosing and taking people's life savings and homes like these HOAs.
We must work and build better communities.

Your story on Mandatory HOA tomorrow may hit home for many owners, if there's a balanced banter of both sides of this issue.
Certainly you will have the paid lobbyists on your show, to spew the "Industry" side of the issue. the big housing mills that churn out acres of litigation factories.
You bet, some of us view these developer-created "contracts" as a liability, not an asset.
"MANDATORY" HOA should be reserved for housing projects where the Association supplies necessities: Water, electricity, Roofing Maintenance above the owner's head, lawn maintenance on the owner's personal residence, or an all you can eat buffet every afternoon.
Condominium associations conceived this concept or "MANDATORY association dues payments".
The number of homes sold into this contract styled living has nothing to do with the desire to live under a private contract government, it has to do with Fraud: Manufactured consent to hidden contracts that deliberately circumvent our sovereign Constitution at every turn.
The legislative process regarding the promulgation of Laws that apply to Mandatory Association no longer adheres to the rules numerated in the constitution, as testified about Senator John Carona of Texas in Senate Intergovernmental Relations testimony in 2002 and 2003:
The Texas Constitution - Article 3 - LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT
Section 22 - DISCLOSURE OF PRIVATE INTEREST IN MEASURE OR BILL; NOT TO VOTE
A member who has a personal or private interest in any measure or bill, proposed, or pending before the Legislature, shall disclose the fact to the House, of which he is a member, and shall not vote thereon.
Senator John Carona violated the Constitution by Voting on SB 507 on May 27*, 2001, because he has a personal interest in this Measure and should have disclosed this fact, and abstained from voting on it:
Community Associations Institute Insider Senator John Carona of Dallas -
According to the senate journal for (Sunday May 27)* 2001, Senator Carona voted on SB 507: http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/sjrnl/77r/html/5-27.htm
CONFERENCE COMMITTEE REPORT ON SENATE BILL 507 ADOPTED
Senator Carona called from the President's table the Conference
Committee Report on SB 507. The Conference Committee Report was filed with the Senate on Saturday, May 26, 2001.
Senator Carona moved to adopt the Conference Committee Report on SB 507.
Senator Lindsay at 8:05 p.m. was recognized to speak against the motion to adopt the Conference Committee Report.
Question-Shall the Conference Committee Report on SB 507 be adopted?
(Senator Armbrister in Chair) (Senator Ogden in Chair) (President in Chair)
Senator Lindsay at 10:20 p.m. yielded the Senate floor.
