I am in the process of writing an article of a $100,000 fee for a "void on the face" Restraining Order in which my HOA, the City, an Assembly-person and the police department all ganged up on me in order to protect the illegalities of the HOA, and the City Government. WHY? That will be a good part of my story.

It seems to me, all States could enact only ONE LAW that would GREATLY CURB/REDUCE these abuses.
Limit attorneys fees to 33% of the "UNCOLLECTED AMOUNT" in question.
As in the case of the woman who was foreclosed for $800+ but the total lien was for $20,000 (including attorney's fees) - had a 33% law been in affect, the lawyer would not be so quick to lien and foreclose for his $264 fees.

The problem with some media sources may be that they are "freshmen" in terms of understanding HOA housing liabilities. It can take months and months of research. Are they doing that? I doubt it.
Jumping on the bandwagon to cover HOA related issues because it's the latest craze in the news is not the same as covering sports - even though some have referred to HOA housing as a blood sport.
HOA law is extremely complicated and multi-dimensional and understanding fully the incestuous relationship between the many crossover laws in just a few hours or a couple of days is next to impossible.
FEEL GOOD LAWS MAY HAVE DANGEROUS LOOPHOLES!!
Frankly, I feel that if a media source fails to do its homework (no pun intended) and a homeowner relies on their reported information and ends up on the losing end - then that media source should be held responsible.
