Investigative reporter Arnold Diaz did an excellent story on homeowner association for 20/20 questioning the power of homeowner associations as a private government with lawsuit abuses fueled by a group of collection lawyers. A CAI 20/20 press release stating "20/20 has clearly not been interested in our perspective for any on-camera comments" followed AHRC's news release that the producer for 20/20 Bonnie Van Gilder had called to inform them that ABC had scheduled the airing of a Homeowners Association news story for Friday April 19, 2002. The show anchored by Barbara Walters and the story reported by Arnold Diaz had been scheduled to air in 2001 but the 9/11 tragedy news coverage delayed the airing.
