Summary: Ex-lawmakers Larry Stirling (R) and Gray Davis (D) wrote the Davis-Stirling Act, the homeowner assocation laws that created the foreclosure floods. Later, as a judge in San Diego, he continued to promote the Davis Stirling Act, even though he said that he would never live in a homeowner association.
After retiring as judge with over $100,000 pension and full medical benefits he resumed his law career and began lobbying in Sacramento. In 2004 je was the Republican candidate to the Califorina Senate from District 39 . Enraged homeowners rallied against him. He reportedly told his Republican opponent, " I need to get these angry homeowners off my a--". He lost. He now does mediation, arbitration and practices law and lobbies lawmakers

Retired in 2003, lost his bid to return to senate. Now does mediation, arbitration and business law with Garrison and McInnis, and lobbies via his company - Sacramento Advocacy.
Wife: Linda, a first vice president at Merrill Lynch.
