"A little more than two months ago, when I took the oath as Attorney General, I declared that what the Department of Justice does is law."
I guess I and many Americans would disagree, since the only law-making body in this country is Congress, and the state legislatures, not the DOJ at all. Actually, believed the DOJ was there to investigate governmental officials violations of the law, and the U.S. Attorney General there to protect the U.S. citizens from from 'corporate' or 'governmental' criminal conduct.
Not make law at all, but represent the interests of the American people in criminal prosecutions, against all enemies both foreign and domestic, including government officials.

"That may sound prosaic or limited, or ordinary, but it is better than the alternative, where the results depend on the opinion of one person or group of people as to what they feel is right. We don't do simply what seems fair and right according to our own tastes, standards, or political opinions."
This part is almost eery, and is a clear description of what occurs in HOA communities each and every day. How many Board members or management companies (or sometimes, with the double speak and legalese of both the statutes, and provisions in these CC&Rs) can either read or understand them? Not to mention how obvious it is that even members of the Supreme Court (in the court of public opinion) has falled to use the 'ordinary language' of the Constitution to formulate their determinations, and have even resorted to redefining the English language, that is how political it has become.
Does he also realize that this country actually WAS founded on individual rights, and that is what the Bill of Rights, and civil rights are all about? To protect the citizens against the abuses of government?

In each case, however large or small, we do what the facts and the law require, and the result is justice."
He is kidding - right? Our courts and courtrooms are structured in such a manner today so as to actually preclude 'fact and law' or 'truth and merit,' much less justice, from being determined.
Who even recognizes the Constitution anymore, in about 90% of the laws which have been passed at both the federal and state level the past 50 years...
I wonder which law school he attended....as this sentence just goes to show how out of touch he is with our civil justice system at the present time.
