Pretty scary thought.....'liberty and justice for all' has become hollow in light of recent events, and nowhere is that also more evident (other than what has transpired with the "common defense" moving from bin Laden and Afghanistan to Hussein and Iraq somehow, setting up a form of government now that is now clear our leadership does not comprehend nor understand).
Justice went out the window when legal ethics and constitutional interpretation as the 'final' word took a back seat to 'deep pockets', campaign funding practices, 'corporate' industry lobbying, and political 'power' trips. The legal 'profession' and courts are unregulated, except by its own "Association" members without a 'checks and balances.' Judges are not ruling according to law, but convenience and 'politics' and until that changes 'and justice for all' will remain only given to the few - the wealthy few who can pay the tab for the 'price' of justice - now well into the five figures it appears for even represented 'small claims' actions, at least in Arizona.

This article is a good example of yet another reason not to hire a lawyer and end up in litigation. just because some human being dons the black robe of justice, it doesn't mean you are going to get it.
The article is titled "buying justice". what a travesty!
You can't buy justice. once justice is on the shelf to be sold to the highest bidder - it no longer serves any useful purpose.
