I am from Canada and we don't carry guns there.
I don't know guns and therefore would never use one but I am not sure I can take this anymore.

When i ask for financials, i get arrested. The other night, i was beaten by a grown man. broken nose, bruising all over my face, road rash on my elbows from being pummeled and knocked to the ground several times, two black eyes, bruising down my cheek.
I didn't bother filing a report, as local law enforcement has continually not only seemingly encouraged, but colluded with.

When some freedom loving people feel like they are getting pushed around enough, they will act in a manner in which they think is appropriate.
I think that if something is NOT done about homeowners' individual rights, we'll see more of this kind of backlash.

I have never broken any laws in my 48 years on this earth. I have never even had a speeding ticket. I follow the CC&Rs and I pay my HOA dues in advance. I have lived in this condominium for one year in Gilbert and I have never been more unhappy---all because the HOA board treats me like a threat.
I made the mistake of complaining about bug infestations, pigeon problems, leaky roofs, overgrown trees, dirty pools, and large dogs allowed to run free on the property. I thought I was helping make this a better property by pointing out the lack of good vendors and by suggesting alternatives. My only motive was to help.
Now I live everyday terrified that the three thugs that run this property will somehow hurt me physically or financially.
I am so glad to see this website. I went to the Gilbert legislator Andy Biggs and he suggested I get involved with this website.
He said that the lawyers and the boards are organized but the homeowners are not organized. That's why we are still helpless in righting all the wrongs currently being done to homeowners, especially in Arizona.
I would never resort to violence but I do intend to fight with everything I have to ensure homeowners are treated fairly under the law. So far, I have managed to get our thug-like HOA management company terminated and I also got some terrible vendors terminated. In addition, two new people got elected to the board thanks to all the letters I sent out.
I'm trying to do whatever I can to make living in this HOA more bearable. I just have to keep remembering Rome wasn't built in a day. Patience is the key word. Dot the eyes and cross the tees and keep plugging along. Our founding fathers faced a much tougher battle but somehow prevailed. I know their blood is running through my veins.
