12. My 2 cents votes is that Condo Guru Beth Grimm is pro-HOA industry.
One can read Ms. Grimm's blog and decide for themselves if Ms. Grimm is "pro-homeowner" or not.

My 2 cents votes she is pro-HOA industry.

What do you think after reading her blog?

10. Ms. Grimm, it is my heartfelt opinion that you are not a friend of any homeowner in this country
  Dear Ms. Grimm,

You say you represent homeowners? Then could you please EXPLAIN why you advised Modoc Recreational Estates Association. (pun intended)in Modoc County that they did not have to provide me records within the 10 day time period?

People who say one thing and do another are in my opinion bold faced liars. I have talked to you about this illegal association. charging me for road maintenance when I live on 2 county maintained roads, you said they cannot legally charge me for services not rendered, then you turn around and help them steal from me.

It is my heartfelt opinion that you are not a freind of any homeowner in this country. Oh, and by the way Ms. Grimm the court here in modoc ruled that the association did NOT have to provide the documents I requested from the association.

Thank You for always looking out for the homeowners.

9. Arizona CAI lawyer Beth Mulcahy ruined my lige
Is Beth's last name really Grimm?

One night I got fed up with having to try to live under control at various levels and most recently that of the homeowner's association.

I don't regret what I wrote, but does anyone know of a hideawy, preferable in Mexico where I can take my dog and my turtles and myself before it is too late?

My repsonse was regarding Beth Mulcahy and how she has ruined my life.

8. Lobby influence on Insurance Committee Chair - Jackie Speier and Juan Vargas - blocked and watered down bills for homeoewners
Comment 4. California Senator Jackie Spear has done nothing to protect our families, our children and our homes from sexual predators- James Goldman.

AB 1317 was the only bill Jackie Speier woked on for homeowners and she was a newcomer in the legislature then and the lobbyists quickly trained her , Homeowners have asked Jackie Speier(she has been chair of the SEnate Insurance Committee for many years) and her housing consultnat to hold hearing on the misuse of insurance policies by companies like CHUBB INsurance and the CAI lawyers. Both refused.

Jackie Speier (Chair of the Senate Insurance Committee) and Senator Juan Vargas (Chair of the Assembly Housing Committee) take hundreds of thousands from the insurance industry and protect their interests:

See Los Angeles Times srticle:

Fire Victims Feel Burned by Lawmakers Tied to Insurers - February 27 2006

Juan Vargas (Chair of the California Assembly Insurance Committee) has received more than $325,377 in campaign contributions from the industry, most of it since he took over the panel in 2003. Insurance donations were 17% of the money he raised for his two Assembly races. He is now making his third run for Congress, trying to unseat U.S. Rep. Bob Filner (D-Chula Vista) in the June Democratic primary.

When the measure, SB 603, came before Vargas' committee, which had been reorganized into a 10-member panel, three legislators cast votes for the bill, and two against it. The bill failed because five other legislators, including Vargas, did not vote, though all were in the Capitol that day.

Jackie Speier (Chair of the California Senate Insurance Committee) -- who is widely disliked by insurers even though they have donated at least $264,247 to her since 2000 -- saw that Vargas' panel would not pass the measure, and she removed the provision so the rest of her bill would pass.

Garamendi and Speier, who are competing this year for the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor, say these laws are major improvements. Consumer advocates and many wildfire survivors say they are insufficient responses to the problems uncovered during the fires.

"We can't ever get the tough medicine," said Bach, whose group has been pressing for changes since the 1991 Oakland Hills fire. "Every time, we've had the same challenge: The insurance industry has an extremely powerful lobby in Sacramento. All the reforms we've been able to get through are watered down."

7. Homeowners angry with Jackie Speir ( Senate Housing Insurance Comittee) for protecting insurance companies

The Los Angeles Times recenlty reported that both Senator Jackie Speier (Chair of the Senate Insurance Committee) and Senator Juan Vargas (Chair of the Assembly Housing Committee) receive hundreds of thousand of dollrs from insurance companies and homeowners have been reporting they are being damaged because both are not providing the oversight of the companies they are required to.

6. Ms. Grimm - WHY have you decided not to lien and foreclose on HOA homeowners for the past six years?
Ms. Grimm - WHY have you decided not to lien and foreclose on HOA homeowners for the past six years?

Since you are a condo lawyer and it sounds like you like to give free advice by your post - What do you now advise your HOA boards to do to a fellow homeowner who becomes delinquent on their HOA dues over 90 days time?

Your prompt reply would be greatly appreciated!!

5. It maybe that Jackie Speier did not keep her promises, or she changed her mind?
Response to poster #4:. •California Senator Jackie Spear has done nothing to protect our families, our children and our homes from sexual preditors,

Is it possible that at one point Jackie may have been saying things to lead homeowners incarcerated in homeowner association laden housing to believe that she would help them, or pass bills that would protect homeowners? And that maybe that she did not keep her promises, or she changed her mind?

Americans are increasingly frustrated with politicians who make promises and don't keep them. It would be nothing new.

HOA Homeowner advocate's opinions about what best to do with homeowner associations are constantly morphing. It is an increasingly growing problem compounded by the layers of garbage laws that have been piled one on top of another. It is a legal quagmire. What sounds like a good idea one day, you quickly learn will sink homeowners the next day.

For example - homeowner advocates 8-10 years ago may have actually promoted CAI (The Community Association Institute)believing them to be representing homeowners, due in part to the fact that perhaps CAI representatives may have led homeowners to believe that. When homeowner advocates started digging beneath the surface, they figured out they had been sleeping with the enemy.

Another example - the Homeowner Association Ombudsman bill. Homeowner advocates have been known to speak FOR and AGAINST this bill at some point or another - some feel that unless the Ombudsman's office has enforcement powers - it's a bad idea; yet others feel that something is better than nothing; and others feel it is just bad law no matter what crumb they give homeowners. As HOA related bills advance through the legislature - they often end up being NOTHING like what they started out to be.

Broken promises are status quo politics. Politicians who purport to represent homeowners, perhaps just looking to garner more votes, are snakes in the grass - grubworms lurking beneath the surface. They are worse than those who outright stand with the homeowner association industry publicly. At least you know who the enemy is in that situation.

Whatever the case may be - HOA laden housing and the matter of how best to protect homeowners and their American dream of home ownership is not an exact science. What sounds like a good idea one day, isn't such a good the next day.

The only thing that ALL homeowner advocates can agree on is that protecting private property rights is of the utmost importance. The current trend towards abuse of eminent domain and redevelopment raping and stripping long time private property owners of their hopes, dreams and memories has GOT to stop.

Freedom begins and ends on the home sweet home front!

4. California Senator Jackie Spear has done nothing to protect our families, our children and our homes from sexual predators.
While I support you and many of your efforts, I am appalled that you would turn to a member of the pervert caucus. Jackie Speier has done nothing to protect our families, our children and our homes from sexual predators. As a member of the Public Safety Committee she has continually voted against bills that would make all our lives safer.

Now you expect her to protect your home? Give me a break.

3. California CAI - ECHO lawyers have begun outsourcing their homeeowner association foreclosures after homeowners began exposing them on AHRC
  An observation:

I have noticed that after homeowners began naming the lawyers involved in homeowner association foreclosures, some of the key lawyers and lobbyists, especially the ones who help write the homeowner association laws in California and parade in the media. now say they no longer do foreclosures. Many say they are outsourcing them.

Among them are Sacramento, California CAI foreclosure lobbyists James Lingle of CAI , and Tyler Berding of ECHO.
