Beware California's New Way of Government

This applies to the homeowner association so called "government" run by neighbors as well. Only the HOA "government" is very up close and personal and severely impacts one's home and family life when you attempt to hold a law breaking or tyrannical board of neighbors accountable.
Your battle in this regard could result in the loss of your equity, or worse, your home. It's bad enough that today's civil servants are so arrogant but couple that with the HOA "Government" that operates without any system of checks and balances and it's no wonder they become such tyrannical regimes.

Having attempted to communicate with Legislators at many levels and dealt with those who answer the phone - our experience has run the gamut of what we call the "yes people who never do anything useful" to the downright "arrogant and rude" who could careless whether they do anything useful. The consituent is perceived as a complainer.
These people are in fact civil servants and they have lost sight of that. The root of this evil attitude is money. Unless you have something useful to contribute - the legislators don't care to waste time with the cheapskate constituents and if they do, it's a downright wank job - if not downright dangerous as is related in this article.
I wouldn't doubt for one minute how quickly an attempt to communicate with anybody of so called "importance" can be blown out of proportion by their insecurities - don't doubt them for a minute or they will call "SECURITY!!!!"
This problem doesn't end with Legislators - it's prevalent in nearly every aspect of what could be deemed a consumer service field and even in a hospital! They don't always make you better. TheAngryPatient.com website is a good example of how quickly things can turn bad. Be very very afraid in that hospital bed too..........
Sadly too many civil servants today aren't any better than the lowest paid call center servant with nary a command of proper English and working for the largest telephone or internet company. It is so true they are given ill-perceived "power" by giving them more important sounding titles.
For example - at an auto repair shop, after repeated attempts to fix a problem, I asked to speak with the service "manager". The dirty young guy behind the counter says "I AM the assistant manager so you are just gonna HAVE to deal with me". Sure enough, he and every guy behind the counter were indeed labeled "assistant manager".
It's one thing to deal with incompetence at an auto repair shop, but when incompetent, cavalier, and arrogant attitudes permeate the Legislative Halls - our country is in serious dis-repair!!
This bad attitude cuts to the core of what is wrong with America today and why so many American's have developed such a distaste and distrust for politicians and their secretaries.

It's not just California.
This country is now run by special interest. For sale to the highest bidder. If you've got the $$$$ your special interest is granted.
The Homeowner Association extortion racket is alive and well thanks to special interest brought to you by the CAI. They pay high $$$ to their lobbyists and our elected officials to ensure the extortion racket continues.
