That might be great advice for someone living in a big city with a lot of money but those rules don't apply to people living in rural California and are of the middle to low income level.
I live in an association and I live on a county road, maintained by the county yet I have to pay the HOA for roads to be fixed within the HOA.
Lawyers in this rural area say they don't want to get involved. I thought lawyers had an ethical duty to report wrong doing to the court???
Reporting a lawyer to the Bar is like reporting a bad NON-PROFIT MUTUAL BENEFIT CORPORATION to the attorney generals office.

Having infractions enforced against attorney's is like have medical malpractioners rewarded for ruining lives. It is like filing a complaint against a builder...which in some state's are not regulated (Texas comes to mind). Several years ago I was going to file a complaint against an attorney for misrepresentation and continous lack of candor in Illinois.
When I called the number the State provided to get the complaint form they connected me with a paralegal who spent more time correcting my English when I used the word "complaint" that I finally said the heck with it. He did subsequently meet up with the wrong person several years later. What is unfortunate is that there is only a very small faction of many professions that should be run off....the problem is they will not police their own.

I agree with the username withheld in Nebraska, quote: Welcome to the "Brotherhood of the Bar".
Our family actually filed a complaint with the Washington State Bar Association against Annette Fitzsimmons the Homeowners Association Attorney for Rainier Vista Landowners Association for violating our rights to Privacy, Harassment, Disseminating Private Information at a Homeowners Association meeting without our families expressed or implied consent and without filing a Public Disclosure Form, Racketeering, Filing False Statements, Fraud and filing for a fraudulent Lien against our property.
The Bar refused to act, our family then send the Bar's decision for review to the Supreme Court of Washington, they informed us that they could not find any wrong doing by this corrupt and unethical Lawyer. It is sad when the courts of this nation condone the unethical behavior of these corrupt HOA Lawyers.

This is super information - but who will do anything about it?
As we all know, the fox is watching the coop and it is difficult if not impossible to get a lawyer disbarred or to even get the fox to begin conducting an investigation of the stinkin' coop full of rotten eggs.
There is a chance that somebody out there - even in good ol' "Southern Caliphoney" has seen complaints about the same lawyers and lawfirms, and submitted by different entities, but to even begin to address those complaints????????? Yeah right - a cold day in hell.
Welcome to the "Brotherhood of the Bar".
