Sadly, one of the scariest things about our so called "golden" years and living in Homeowenr Association housing with abundant home equity, is that the equity is up for grabs!!
There used to be a time that the "family farm" was passed on for generations to come - now the "family farm" is just farmed out once its coffers are plump and juicy.
Thank God we don't live in an HOA. I desire to pass down my hard earned equity and home to my kids and grandkids. It will be a cold day in Hell before I give some greedy HOA vendor the opportunity to get even one red cent of my money!!!

Don't forget the security company if there is one.
Mine harrassed me by making several supposed "welfare checks", bringing police to my door with claims of having stolen property in my garage, making threats to the guards when I found them inside my garage nosing around.
Homeowner Associations have many, many ways to come after homeowners who ask too many questions or try to stand up for themselves.
