Wasserman? This name sounds familiar.
Is this the same AP reporter that covered some other HOA related issue and there were complaints that he didn't do a very good job or that he referenced the HOA industry vendors only?

"California's real estate agents sponsored the legislation"????????????????? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
If it weren't so serious an issue, this would be funny. The realtors gladly sponsored a bill that would cover their butts. This does little to help homeowners.
The magic of creative accounting may hide the financial hazards lurking beneath the surface of an HOA's finances. Just because the HOA has a copy of "financials" and gives it to a prospective buyer does not mean the financials are what they appear to be.
