The Sacramento Bee raises it's head once again.
In the words of Mark Twain, "A good writer comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable."
The Sacramento Bee afflicts the afflicted and comforts the comfortable.

The Contributing Editor of the Sacramento Bee, Peter Schrag is on the advisory council of the Public Policy Institute of California.
This institution's Board has ties to the Irvine Company - THE pre-eminent PLANNNED DEVELOPMENT MONOPOLY. It was a politician from Irvine that wondered what would happen to all the people that are employed by the HOAs when he was asked about placing a moratorium on the building of planned developments.
Enuff said.
This institute's study on planned developments was elementary at best and and did not include input from homeowners or homeowner advocacy groups - even though they asked to be included. It really was nothing more than HOA corporate propaganda.
Political incestuousness has very, very deep roots. If you believe your politician works for you - you need to look a lot deeper. (Some politicians are really nothing more than glorified HOA board members.)
The lone politicians that try to do the right thing and represent constituents eventually get out of politics because they are out voted or left out of the loop time and again.
This is not unlike the lone homeowner friendly HOA board member who somehow gets elected only because the rest of the board in control of the neighbors decides to throw the 'dissident' homeowners a 'crumb' to keep them quiet.
"Let him get elected - if he does we will just leave him out of the loop", said the HOA property manager from Irvine, California - the pre-eminent planned development monopoly.

BOYCOTT THE SACRAMENTO BEE.
The article is elementary at best and does little to educate and inform homeowners of the facts of the matter surrounding the increased liability and risks inherent in HOA life.
Something is abuzz in the SACRAMENTO BEE'S honey pot. Gee, could it possibly BEE that their honeypot answers to the high dollar advertisements that come from the local realtors and the bottom line is the BEE's bottom line - NOT their readerships? Or maybe they just don't want to sink the housing market with the truth.
If I were subscribing to the BEE I would take out my biggest fly swatter and cancel it immediately.
