Press Release
FORECLOSURE AND A MAN SHOT HIMSELF

The State of Arizona should hang their head in SHAME!!!!

February 01, 2004

By Pat Haruff

Mesa, Arizona -

Following is a media alert from Arizona homeowner advocates

Today a gentlemen homeowner shot himself because he couldn't handle the pressure and the loss of his PAID FOR home in Velda Rose Estates in Mesa. He couldn't handle the SHAME he felt for having his home foreclosed on.....

Nobody cared, nobody gave a damn. The gentlemen didn't know what he was dealing with when he got mixed up with an HOA Board and Charles Maxwell, one of CAI's esteemed attorneys.

The ugliness of HOAs and their unfettered power to take the elderly's homes without reason except for a weed, a trailer hitch protruding out of a carport has reared its ugly head again......this time in Mesa, Arizona. But yet, those who represent CAI and HOA Attorneys and HOA Management companies stand before the legislature to argue AGAINST giving homeowners the right to speak at a Board meeting (while the Board is spending their money). They stand and argue that the homeowners should not see the financial records (again their money). They stand and argue that the homeowner should NOT be allowed to sue the Board for actions they take that are beyond their authority to do so......

And the worst of all, they truly believe (these small people) that they should have the RIGHT to take a persons home for $50, $100 for fines they do not have to prove. WHO THE HELL DO THEY THINK THEY ARE........yes I am upset and I think I have a right to be.......WHEN WILL THE MADNESS STOP. How many people have to lose their homes, lose their lives before REAL action is taken?

Tell me media, do the research.......name me ONE HOA that ever went bankrupt because they couldn't foreclose on a homeowners home, JUST ONE!

The only people who prosper from all of this is the HOA Attorney and the Management companies. I am sure the innocent people of Velda Rose Estates are not involved in such an ugly affair.

How long will it be before those who can do something stop bowing before the feet of Corporations and Special Interests?

Let's hope the man lives.......I feel sad and hopelessly helpless because there was absolutely NOTHING I could do for him by the time he called me.

The State of Arizona should hang their head in SHAME!!!! Does anyone still think that this community would have gone broke and that this homeowner should have lost his home. From what the neighbors say this homeowner was not violating any governing documents.

TELL THE LEGISLATURE NOT TO GIVE US BAND AIDS ANYMORE.......WE WANT ENFORCEMENT OF THE LAWS BY THE AG'S OFFICE AND NOTHING LESS!

Remember what happens when good men stand by and do nothing!

NOTES:
Action Acquisitions (Robert Hoff - statutory agent and Brian D Hoff- Manager) purchased the home. Only four bids on the house?
