Freedom of Speech and the Housing Financial Crisis In what some observers claim is a shocking violation of the First Amendment, a California court has ordered the domain name of the most prominent voice for homeowners to be turned over to the biggest homeowner association law firm, Peters and Freedman. (Technically, the domain name is to be turned over to a homeowner association, but observers claim that the real party in interest is the law firm.)

Recently a British free lance journalist on assignment to write an article about homeowner associations for a financial publication called AHRC for information. We provided him with information and then sent him a list of articles to read before calling us back again for additional information.
We are publishing the list of articles we sent him. We think this list will give other writers ...

I would never, ever, again live in a homeowners association. As I have said repeatedly to my weary friends and relatives; I don't care if the monthly fee is fifty cents.
Living in a HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION = LAWSUITS.
I read this site and it's newsletter all the time, and I am rather surprised that most of the horror stories come out of Texas and California. I live in Pennsylvania and the ...

I enjoyed reading your letter which appeared via AHRC.
As a member of AHRC, and as an active participant in our family's own HOA Horror Story, i'd like to offer that in addition to simply repeating the horrors, that we begin an active discussion of how and why the problems are as bad as they are, and what can be done to attempt to begin addressing the issues.
To begin with, kicking the unlicensed, uneducated and unregulated management companies to the curb permanently (which are completely unnecessary profit-driven enterprises creating havoc and "horrors"). then, with the other foot, swiftly give a strong kick to the attorney's.

Brief letter to the Orange County Court court to protest no proper service judgment given to Peters & Freedman home foreclosure lawyers. Please take note: It has been brought to my attention by AHRC News Services that a judgment was issued against me, on or about October 27, 2005. However, I was never served any notification of the case, and have no idea of what it is I am accused of doing. I have contacted PETERS & FREEDMAN LLP, but they refuse to return my calls.

We are interested in energy efficient, environmentally friendly products and services. We learned about highly energy efficient metal roof overs and asked a board member what we needed to do to get approval. We were told we could do whatever we wanted as long as it wasn't pink. We offered to take our request to the board and were told we didn't need to. Our city does not require a permit for roof overs because it is not viewed as an architectural change. We had no functioning architectural committee at the time.

I am a member of a homeowners association that is so corrupt. I did not realize this until I stummbled onto the ahrc.com web site. The light "WENT ON". I saw clearly what was happening. There are three of us fighting to take back our HOMES. We have gotten signatures to remove the the board so we can fire the HOA managers. They have taken over our community 3 years ago and our reserves are follen drastically. People who live here don't know what is happening. They are in a limbo state..

Please take time to write your letter to the ACLU and Electronic Frontier Foundation. Don't let the home foreclosure lawyers take away the homeowners First Amendment Rights and AHRC.com - the Voice of the Homeowners. Here is my letter to the ACLU and Electronic Frontier Foundations: "We believe that this attempt to 'hijack' this website is because AHRC has been successfully exposing the complicated web of HOA's and the HOA industry. We believe that this attempt to silence AHRC is being done because the parties involved make a living off of the HOA housing product. Informed home buyers and homeowners puts a dent in the HOA industry's bottom line, and that's what this is all about, money. AHRC is starving the HOA industry's cash cow and they don't like it. Please consider helping the homeowners to continue to have AHRC as a resource so they can be informed consumers, in order to protect their homes and home equity, and likely the largest investment they will ever make in their lifetime. Help to protect the American Dream of Home Ownership. If we fail to protect Freedoms on the "Home Sweet Home" front, does it really matter anywhere else?...."
