The cozy relationship of builders and government in California cities

San Clemente, California -

Many Orange County city councils are controlled by builders. The San Clemente City Council is one of these. Most of its members are financed and supported by builders. The local Chamber of Commerce is their mouthpiece and it promotes and helps elect these builders' politicians. These politicians use their office to misappropriate citizens' power and money.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce spent $40,000 to elect the majority of the city council. After the elections the city council gave $40,000 of tax payer money back to the Chamber.

The city council also gives for $1/year , a prime, main street building that is owned by the taxpayers, to the chamber to do their promotions and propaganda. Where do these politicians get this money to pay back their benefactors? By cutting back the services to the seniors , the schools and the residents.

Cozy relationships, abuse of power and such misuse of citizens' funds is a crime. It has no place in any government.
