MELISSA COLBURN AGREES TO SETTLE WITH PETERS AND FREEDMAN

Confidential Settlement on RICO Lawsuit against the homeowner association lawyers

The law firm of Peters and Freedman has offered a new settlement to Melissa Colburn and she has accepted it. She previously turned down a settlement offer from Peters and Freedman that would have returned her condo to her and paid her $5,000. Among other causes of action, she was suing them for fraud and racketerring - RICO violations.

As the settlement is confidential at the insistence of Peters and Freedman, no details are available as to its contents. Settlements cannot preclude parties filing complaints with government agencies and such agencies as the state bar.

Reports are circulating that a number of individuals are in the process of filing complaints against Peters and Freedman with the San Diego District Attorney, the Attorney General and the California state bar. No details are currently available.

FOX 6 News - San Diego has been conducting interviews.


UPDATE

Melissa Colburn and several other homeowners filed complaints with the San Diego District Attorney's office. A reporter following up on this was told the complaints are "under investigation".

They also filed detailed complaints with the State Bar of California,
