| Pompano Beach, Florida - A man upset over thousands of dollars in fees owed to a condominium association brandished a gun and took two association employees hostage before he was killed by a SWAT team, authorities said. Deputies "were screaming at him to put the gun down, but he didn't seem to be paying attention," said Ross Torman, 30, a resident who watched the standoff from his nearby balcony. "He just put that gun right to his head and that's when they began to shoot." Dellisanti was pronounced dead at a hospital. Dellisanti lived with his mother, Edith Jemas, 80, who owned the condo in Pompano Beach about 40 miles north of Miami. Neighbors said Dellisanti did not appear to have a job and said his mother was ill and cared for by nurses. Records show she owed more than $4,000 in missed maintenance fees, special assessments and late fees. Neighbors said the assessments were added after Hurricane Wilma hit in 2005. The association put a lien against Jemas' home on April 11.
