| Des Moines, Iowa - Oprah Winfrey jumped from sedate sofas of daytime television into the rancorous waters of the US presidential election last night, issuing a stinging critique of Hillary Clinton and urging voters to support her rival Barack Obama. In what is already a wide-open and increasingly rancorous two-billion dollar battle to elect the most powerful politician in the world, she created what could be a defining moment asking the 23,000 supporters gathered on a bone-chilling afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa, to "see through" Washington insiders like Mrs Clinton.
