San Juan Capistrano, California - Geneva Kirk Brooks exploded into my life with a gutsy declaration of war on all HOA tyrants and thieves that dared show utter contempt for our constitutional rights by using illegal contracts to steal homes under nonjudicial foreclosure that make a mockery of due process and equal protection.
She stepped out of Metro News headlines in her larger than life headline story with ACLU support, to serve notice, neither CAI or Chubb thieves are free to make future raids on property rights of old or young, because as of that day, the eyes of one Texan woman were upon them. "You can run but you can't hide?"
Even though this feisty gal past three score recovered her stolen home very quickly, she did not rest on her laurels and leave the culprits free to line their pockets stealing other homes. She used every known contact and all the muscle she could raise to yell deep in the heat of Texas-loud enough to be heard by the media. " Your days are numbered racketeering in homeowner associations, because we are going to wipe you out."
The ACLU did not have funds to take on this battle but Brooks put her money where she put her courageous mouth and made sure the lawsuit was fought and won on constitutional grounds, to open the door to assist others.
She quietly rescued one Texan victim of the same fraud until his case was won in court and won his heart in helping her to fight back.
Grassroots grandmas are rare these days when health experts warn us to put our feet up, avoid stress, eat balanced meals and do boring things that kill our spirit so much, we have nothing to live for. Talking to Geneva Kirk Brooks by phone was like talking to a General of the Army, because her strength, determination and confidence came through as tho she were standing beside you and left no doubt she would fight this new evil with all her might like Joan of Arc.
Bone cancer strikes a number of leaders who make a difference. The last fighter I lost to this silent enemy was the great nutritionist, Adelle Davis, who saved many lives with her honest books, "You are what you eat." I dined with Adelle Davis before she knew bone cancer threatened to end her long career in Los Angeles, CA. On that last visit she appeared with her left one arm tied in a splint for arthritis - not knowing the symptoms concealed a more deadly foe.
It was a few months later she informed me, the hundreds of annual X-rays her insurance company exposed her to insure her contract as a public speaker, over exposed her to so much radiation, she developed bone cancer.
We both knew the secret of health is a strong immune system and a human requires 38 different amino acids to build and restore the body's cells but our diet is so poor, few of us have 14 amino acids. The stress filled life we lead, running to court, taking depositions, blasting thieves, parading prostituted legislators who are only errand boys for lobbyists, leaves so little time, the average citizen spends more time tuning his car than his body.
The sad thing is , one Washington Physician discovered we can protect our health with one low cost product called Barley Green Grass eaten two or three times per day by teaspoon that will give us enough amino acids to restore or replace damaged cells so our immune system is not depleted.
I shared this knowledge with Geneva two weeks ago but she had already been ravished so badly by chemotherapy and radiation, the devil's billion dollar profit killer, her weak voice warned me, it was too late to turn the tide.
The battle for property rights must continue and the battle for life must also be fought against a racketeering drug industry that controls the FDA and the American Medici al Association like the CAI and Chubb controlled common interest developments.
Corporate America is the real enemy and apathy allowed them to invade every business and life so deeply now it is a gigantic task to remove them and take back our lives with our property.
My childhood prayer, "If it's going to be it's up to me" keeps me dedicated to the battle in front of us but I can't say goodbye to a plucky leader I admired and respected as soul sister without a verse passed down by an unknown author.
WHY RISK
To laugh-
Is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep-
Is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another-
Is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings-
Is to risk exposing our true self.
To place your ideas, your dreams, before the crowd-
Is to risk loss.
To love is -
To risk not being loved in return
To live is-
To risk dying,
To hope-
Is to risk despair-
To try at all-
Is to risk failure
But to risk, we MUST, BECAUSE-
The greatest risk in life
Is to risk nothing.
The man, the woman, who risks nothing-
Does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
So here's to Geneva Kirk Brook who had courage to risk all, be all, do all and inspires us to
be something... as we miss her and find the strength to let her go...in her words
" When you are lonely and sick of heart. go to friends you know.
And bury your sorrows in good deeds...miss me, but let me go...
I miss you Geneva but I let you go knowing your spirit will guide us and fight the good fight...
