QUESTION: I submitted information a montha ago about Virginia bill SB-6016 granting authority to Homeowner Associations to re-write deeds - John - Great Falls, VirginIa Did it get lost in cyberspace? AHRC RESPONSE: Looks like your Virginia Bill News Alert did disappear into cyberspace, John. Can you please send it again the AHRC "News Submission Form". SB 6016 sounds like a bill that is being written to take Virginians property away from the property owners and all homeowners need to know about it. Politicians should not be writing laws to let "voluntary directors" of neighborhood homeowner associations re-write the deeds of other people's homes and private property

I purchased my duplex in July of 2006. During the closing I received a Resale Disclosure Certificate which states everything is in compliance with the association. I recall at the closing the main issue was if the previous homeowner had paid all the dues but that was it. In October of 2007 I receive a Rule Infraction stating I must remove a shed that is attached to the house within 10 days or I will be charged $25.00 for the first notice, $45.00 for the second notice and $25.00 Administrative Fee. I call in hysterics to figure out what is going on and they refer me to the Association laws that sheds are to be 100 cubic feet or less. I call and try to explain that I had lived there over a year and this was the first I was heard of the problem with the shed. Do I have any recourse here? Thanks.. Ready to SHED a tear

The Woodholm Green Homeowners Association board of directors is now demanding I remove my fence that's been on my property for 14 years. I purchased the home 7 years ago. I was never notified to attend a Board of Directors Meeting or told of any pending action against the removal of my fence until just a month ago. Please give me any suggestions or answers to help me resolve this matter.

Can the homeowner association authorities do something about my automovile parking on the permises if I have not made payments? I live at Placentia Lakes Homeowners Association.

I am a homeowner in Cypress Village Homeowners Association in Cypress, California. The homeowner association board has fined me $1800.00 for installing a screen door in the year 2003 which completely complies with the written architectural guide lines of the Association. I have pleaded with the Board several times to be reasonable but to no avail Can the Assocuiation force the Escrow Company to collect this fine at the time of sale of my home or can they proceed with forecloiure proceeding to collect this fine?

Process servers employed by Peters & Freedman have jumped walls, trespassed, banged on trash bins, and rang the homeowner's doorbell at 9.00 pm on a Sunday night. A writ filed with the Appellate Court states that they have falsely stated they have served papers on a person when they have left it outside without serving anyone. Peters and Freedman have charged inflated service fees of up to $1,000. claiming they made numerous attempts when they did not. Has anyone else had similar experiences with these lawyers? The process servers have also opened up and left papers inside the U. S. Postal mailbox of the homeowner.
