Abuses of HOA drive people out of their homes.After almost 3 years in this HOA prison camp and over $50,000 in improvements to our property, my wife and I have decided that it is not worth it. We have decided to sell and take our losses. It's a shame. We thought we found a great little retirement community. Never again!!Being a little bit smarter than when I purchased my last home, I would do things a little different. Before ever looking at a home or lot, I would FIRST determine if there was a deed restriction that required a Homeowner's Association. If so........
