Summary: This office provides mediation and arbitration services. The costs are borne by both the homeowner and the association.
In addition, Nevada association homeowners are required to pay $3 per home to fund the Ombudsman's office.
Hardy, the uncle of Senator Warren Hardy (R) had no experience with homeowner associations until he was given the job in 2001.
He owned Hardy's Automotive Service Center which he sold recently. He is a nationally certified arbitrator and founding director of the Nevada Association of Independent Businesses and Nevada Association of Automotive Service Professionals.
According to Hardy, in 2003:
Nevada has about 3,000 HOAs. 90 % are in southern Nevada.
1 million people live in homeowner associations.
Clark County has about 870,000.
85 % of all new homes have homeowner associations.

I live in Mountainside community and received a letter that I am not allowed to hang clothes to dry in my backyard. I have a privacy panel at my neighbor's side yard behind my shed where I hang my clothes so it is not visible to anyone or from the street. Are they allowed to look into my backyard ?
