I am writing to you on behalf of the above bill. We lost our home in December, 2003, because of late Homeowner Association dues of $120. These were dues for the year 2003. When I sent a check for the dues, it was refused and returned to us.
While there are many Homeowners Associations that would not think of treating their neighbors in such a manner, there are far too many Homeowner Associations who do. The damage they do goes beyond financial and home loss, it affects our families as well as our self-worth and our pride in our community.
